I grew up on gospel music...like rich and robust vocals in Southern black churches. So when I hear a voice like Kelly Price's, in a song like "Tired"...(closes eyes and shakes head). This truly reminds me of that type of music - it's straight from the soul of a person. The emotion is audible. And especially since this song doesn't have a traditional form, it is very much like a cry. It's no secret that Kelly Price is immensely talented. Her producer, Warryn "Baby Dubb" Campbell describes her as "one of those singers who can do anything with her voice." So I am looking forward to listening to and marveling upon her upcoming album.
